My 7 yr old DS with Asd/Asperger's does the exact same thing. If you let him, he will debate everything and nothing will get done. I am trying to tell his teachers not to engage with him in this manner but they don't have a clue. Most school resources are devoted toward academic remediation and very little social and behavioral supports that our kids need.

My child is probably be dx with ADHD before the end of the school year. Is this an ADHD behavior or a personality behavior? In short, some times my son is incredibly obnoxious. I'm trying to sort out what is medical and might be mitigated by meds and what is truly behavioral and might need some sort of behavioral therapy.
