Wake Forest & Richmond are common for NOVA Virginia kids as alternatives to WM. If serious about merit aid, you will have to pursue other than "the usual"

Agree. My DC got in to Wake last year with better scores and didn't get anything. But make sure he gets his application in at wake by 12/1 for consideration for merit scholarships.

Thanks so far. His favorite privates that we visited were Richmond and Wake. WM is his ED school, and we certainly hope it works out, since it would be painful to pay full freight at the others.
