There might still be bullying at WIS but it will probably not be on racial grounds. I don't know if that helps.

I'm not so sure that they would bully because of race at that age. My son is 7 he doesn't even say black. He said brown once to describe one of his neighborhood friends.

Parents are almost never present in the settings where effective bullies do their work. So we are left with either believing children who say they are bullied or not trusting children because, well, they may distort or lie. Imho better route is to understand the school policies and ongoing action to support those policies.

WIS has mostly kids who are bi - national, bi- racial, and they all grow up fairly colorblind. Not sure about other aspects of the school.

OP is either a troll or an idiot.

SR is trying to teach young girls to be resilient so yes it is true the administration tries to not get involved (particularly if the offending party is a big donor or has lots of kids).

If anyone embarrasses themselves on this board it is those who take time to point out that threads shouldn't be posted, don't matter or include unacceptable words. There are a select few here that seem to think they own this forum or at least that they are the forum contact.

Free exchange of ideas is a good thing. It's easy to ignore any thread that bothers you. I also assume that anyone who finds their way onto this forum is intelligent enough to determine if a thread is relevant to them and judge the content. There is also a search function so posters can find past discussions buried in this forum.

Did you neighbor have children go through both schools? I would never choose a school based on hear-say by a neighbor. Tour the school, talk to current parents. It can be helpful to talk to people who left, but I always throw out the opinions people who are unrealistic cheerleaders and hopelessly negative. All schools have pros and cons. Find a parent that can give you a balanced view.

Please choose your child's school on how good a fit it is, not politics. Conservatives have no monopoly over bullying, and to allude to that is insensitive and unkind. You need to get over looking at people one-dimensionally, through a political lens, if you want others to look at you and your children as whole human beings, and not just a skin color. This x1000. So many different ways to pose the question if it was a real concern.

We are a current Beauvoir family and I've never seen bullying at the preK or K level. If it happens, it won't be tolerated. My experience is that Beauvoir is diverse for a private and very welcoming. We came from EOTP and of course the student body isn't the same as Garrison or Tubman but it's certainly far from homogenous. Mixed race, same sex family, single parents are all represented.
