We feed our dog Acana Grasslands. It is produced in Canada and is grain-free. We used to feed her California Natural, because she had a lot (a LOT) of digestive issues when we adopted her, and we wanted a minimal-ingredient food. But then Purina bought California Natural, so we looked for another option.
Treats? We give her Plato brand salmon treats. She LOVES them.
Do you give your dog "people food"? We add leftover grilled chicken or hamburger to her food sometimes, as well as white rice. Occasionally she gets a few roasted potato pieces, green beans, or carrots. She loves raw carrots and comes running when she hears me peeling one.
We rescued her 5 years ago - at that time she weighed 12 lbs. She has weighed 22 lbs since about 4 years ago, and according to the vet is just the right weight.

Now Fresh for kibble (Canadian). For treats, buddy biscuits, Thinkers, Blue Buffalo sticks and bones, Bully slices -- all U.S. made.

I can't feed my dog canned food because she got bloated when I tried that before. I will look into that brand for dry food though.
How much does she weigh? What breed generally (if she's mixed)? Does she eat really fast? That might be why she got bloated. They have special bowls to slow gobblers down…

Fried eggs and homemade bread crusts are our dog's faves. Dogs, in my experience, digest foods that are local to where they are originally bred from, or as near to it as possible. Water dogs love fish, hunting dogs eating game and so on, YMMV.

Blue Buffalo did not agree with my dog's digestive system - he also had frequent ear infections and was licking his paws, and it turned out he was allergic to chicken.
We feed him Taste of the Wild now (I get it at MOM's) mixed with some cooked ground turkey that I make as a big batch on the weekend, and for treats I use the Trader Joe's beef jerky which is made in the US.
People food might include bites of fruit, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, bread crusts, or meat that isn't spicy.

My dog LOVES sunny side up eggs! She goes nuts the minute I crack an egg every time. I think she can smell it or something. But that is very interesting about their taste being regional.

That said, my british lass loves the Pappy's Pot Roast Dinner, the Chicken Pot Pie Special Stew and the Texas Tips Steak Dinner. These are foods by Merrick's and they absolutely smell like people food. Seriously, I've never tasted it, but they really smell delicious.
