I had 2 rounds of accutane and each time acne returned after a few years. Using spironolactone now and helps but still get occasional breakouts.

i have really been enjoying dr. dennis gross's daily peels, found at your local sephora for like $85. i was broken out -- cyst-like pimples, whiteheads, blackheads, the whole deal. after about a month of these peels, i've had great imrovement. give them a try.

There are plenty of people who have tried Accutane and found it is not permanent. I am one of them.

True. It actually wasn't permanent for me either. But it is permanent for many people, and it's the only option that is potentially permanent. I wish I had tried it sooner, frankly. My skin is still a thousand times better than it was before Accutane, even if it's not great now. But I have so many scars that I wish I could have prevented.

Facials are going to make this situation worse. You need a dermatologist. To the PP who has rosacea. I do as well and it has gotten way worse since having a kid at age 39. I was on finacea and that stopped working. Thanks fo Dr Pinterest, I am now washing my face in coconut oil. Sounds nuts I know but in two days my skin is soft and the redness is half of what it used to be.

I started having acne-like breakouts and facial redness after my kids were born. Turned out to be rosacea. Derm helped to get it under control. Now I control it with a good skincare routine and microdermabrasion every couple of months. I do keep a tube of Finacea on hand in case of flare-ups. OP, you really should see a derm. These kinds of skin problems in adulthood need professional help. Facials are great but they're not a substitute for proper treatment.

Pro-activ burned my skin. That's when I found out I was sensitive to BP.

The best thing for acne without seeing a derm is most definitely Pro-active.

This stuff really does WORK + has changed my skin and my life!
