ASD is all the rage these days. The diagnosis is handed out like candy. I wouldn't get too upset about it. Just take one issue at a time -- and get a second opinion if you feel the diagnosis might be off.

Asshole.

I was thinking troll, but I like your response better.

Nope. Just the truth. Parents need to to their research before they trust any initial diagnosis.

What makes you think they haven't? Your last response really shows your ignorance.

I've heard JSSA is good, though I've never attended their meetings. Parent-to-parent is a local organization that can connect you to a parent mentor, among other things. If your kid is far to the right like mine, and you think there are some underlying medical issues, I would advise reaching out to TACA online. They can connect you with a local mentor and you can attend support groups. There is also the ARC of Montgomery County. They have many services including respite care.

Montgomery county autism society has a monthly parent support group. JSSA group is great. You will find you may get support from other families in your child's early intervention toon class- once your child begins.

So so sorry OP. This article lists some good resources. Whitney who is mentioned in the article is wonderful and I'm sure could answer any questions you had or give you further resources.
