Almost everything is made in China or Romania or some other countries these days
And soon everything will be made in Africa
Because it's even cheaper for companies then China
You do know that they have exact same equipment and supervised accordingly?
You think italian (French ) worker does better job then chineese?![]()
Hah, for these prices it should be a craftsman working with natural leather following centuries of tradition, not a migrant worker knee deep in heavy-metal laden leather.
LOL
Welcome to 21 century
Where corporations can't even afford that
I would really like to see you starting a handbag company using craftsmen with only finest leather and with the volume they have
And we will see how you do
You have no clue about supply chain
I have a very good idea about supply chain, hence why I know these authentic designer handbags are a sham. You are paying prices higher than used to be commanded when they goods were still made in Europe by hand, but the companies have migrated the production to subpar Chinese factories to maximize their profit. People should realize that's why the products are so unreliable now, and understand what they are paying for (sizzle not steak).
But maybe if the recession in Europe worsens and deflation takes hold, we'll see production starting up there again. Especially for Italy, which has a mountain of debt to pay off.

They have higher standards at least in the industry where my DH works
He said he can always identify product made in USA vs China
USA product usually made crappy
Except for the, you know, poisonous dog treats they've been sending over here.

Well good for you and I love my Chanel bag not for status but for iconic design
And I don't want to buy "inspired by" or a knock off for personal reasons
Same with LV
People like design ,it's old and vintage and lots of history behind it
Almost like art
Yes you can go buy Picasso or your neighbors kids painting for $20 which looks good
It's a matter of preference and taste
You've posted 4-5 times in this thread. Why do they all look like poems or haiku?
Same writing style as the poster who wants to leave her husband for her "soul mate".![]()

Most Chinese products are crappy quality. Chinese factories initially produce decent manufactured goods and then gradually skimp on quality and quality control in order to maximize their profits. They suck.
Goods made in Europe or the US have better quality control.

When I bought it, I was told that it was a genuine bag but the designer's QC department rejected it because of a very minor imperfection that most people would not even notice. The sales rep showed me what it was otherwise I would not have known. It did cost more than the usual fake bags but still a fraction of a genuine one.
Most of the price of these designer bags is for the status of owning it. Sure the quality is better but if the very same bag were sold without the designer insignia it would not have the cache of owning a designer bag.
