So funny because my toddler had cotton candy for the first time a few weeks ago. She was so excited to try the treat her 5 year old brother had and that looked so pink and awesome, but as soon as it hit her tongue, she looked at me with the saddest look of ultimate betrayal on her face. She didn't like how it just disappeared.

I agree that soup dumplings are an amazing revelation, especially when you've been eating just regular dumplings for 25 years. I used to work overnight shifts near Chinatown a couple times a month and we would all go out for "lunch" in the middle of the night. After my first soup dumpling, that was my favorite group choice.

I didn't pluck it myself, but I was overseas and it was plucked that day. I bought a bag full and couldn't believe how amazing they were.

I'm still taken back when I eat a peach overseas at my grandmother's house. So sweet and juicy and full of flavor. I can never find anything like it at the grocery store.

When I was a kid, my parents occassionally took us to a fancy restaurant that had truly magical dessert soufles. The were warm and puffy, and oozed yummy goo from the middle. I remember it being so difficult to pick between the raspeberry, chocolate, or orange zest. I honestly think about them all the time, but have been unable to find or create anything remotely like them.
