Oh, and as an adjunct to the above. You can't cook away histamine because it's not a bacteria so It won't die. It's a chemical not denatured by heat. So even if you cook it, you still get sick.

Y'all who think you can smell bacterial contamination of food don't understand food poisoning. One of the biggest in fish (including salmon) is histamine poisoning. This is sometimes called scromboid.
You can't smell histamine. It's not a breakdown - it's the accumulation of a toxin in the tissues of the fish. And it makes you darned sick.
I'm not worried about Ebola. I don't get a flu shot, usually. But it's worth keeping your good safe, considering it's something you have control over. And the #1 cause of illness. Anywhere. Well, maybe other than water in third world countries.

no, not a troll. I trust my senses and if my nose says its ok and my eyes say it is ok, then normally its ok. But for my kids, I go an extra level of care. So I'll probably cook it and feed it to my dogs.

Worked in AK with salmon. If it smells okay tonight, go right ahead and fully cook it. You should be fine. You can't imagine how old some of the stuff that goes in cans is - salmon-wise so fully cooked should be no problem.

Fish collects bacteria very quickly. I wouldn't do it!

I'd totally eat a pot of tomato sauce left out overnight, and will even go with chicken left at room temperature for a while (provided it gets cooked afterwards) but fish at room temp+ for 15 hours? Nope. Sorry.
