OP, first, I would try not to position yourself as the "kid sister" at the company. It's not a good long-term professional plan.
But, as a 40-year old woman, I have to say that I know plenty of guys that have played the field until their late 30's or early 40's so, then settled down with women that are 10 years younger than them. (Because, clearly, they can't marry women their own age and expect to pop out the cute kids.) And I even think it's theoretically possible that, even if he dates hot models, he's interested in settling down with someone more wholesome. Odds are he's just being nice and is not interested, but if you don't care about a little humiliation, I say go for it and see if he's interested in going out for a drink after work. Since you're quitting or transferring soon anyway, there's less downside to rejection.

Um, he has not heard about me being the glue. Where did that idea even come from??? I've never said anything like that. And like I've already said his assistant is LONG-TERM friend of mine whom I've recommended myself. The more I read the more misunderstandings I see, lol.

He's a charming flirt. He has done what he's good at- making you feel wanted, cherished, important. YOU DEFINITELY ARE- to others. But I doubt to him. I have no particular feelings about anything else you've written but no, nothing you've said gives me the impression he's interested in you in that way. He is a charming older man and like most young girls at some point, you have a crush. Take it from me: the older man is only interesting for so long. Then you just want someone who is your own age.

If he's really that nice,then he's just being himself. He's probably not interested in you. If he's truly a nice guy he could develop an interest in you, but he's probably got strong sense of boundaries, so you would have to make the first move.
If he's a player, then he's just working you. He knows he could have you if he wants, but he is using you a different way. If you make the first move, he's going to use you a different way and it's going to end badly.

First of all, no he isn't interested in you.
Secondly, think about what your wrote. He is a playboy. At 38 and an executive he would be married if he wanted to be.
If you want to try and make a reputation for yourself at work as a sleep-to-the-top girl go ahead. My guess is that if you even get that far, you will regret it.
