The Asian comments completely have to do with these schools. What rock have you been hiding under?

Anyway, both schools are awesome, speaking from a UCSD grad (UCSD is too!)

Don't take this thread where it wasn't intended.

You're obviously not familiar with the schools, 11:13.

The California schools are much more open to Asian students than schools that practice "affirmative action." As a result, the % of Asian students is very high.

Cal/UCLA is blind to race but if you are OOS full pay, you will have a much easier time getting in.

Berkeley is no 1 and UCLA is no 2. Good luck getting into either.

Is DS an OOS Asian? No Berkeley or UCLA for you! But maybe if he is a Jew.

Weird comment .

OOS Asians have it a lot better than in state Asians, IF they are full pay. UC needs the money right now.

I'm a Davis grad and I'd say Berkeley but really it's awesome if you get into either.

they are both great. the posters who are saying Cal (Berkeley) hands down are invoking the reputation from decades ago. Agree there are unique benefits to both but excellent resources at UCLA.

And the posters who think Cal is too liberal ... not so much anymore. It's become a rather conservative place save for the usual protests that you'll find on any college campus.

Anybody can ask any question, any time. Not your call though you are entitled to an opinion.

You can apply to both at once with no additional effort or expense, so it only matter once you get into both. It is not possible that someone is choosing between the two now.
Most people do their homework and ask questions before they apply. I would never apply to any college without asking questions and doing homework.

And how do you know someone isn't choosing between the two now. You certainly presume a lot.

Don't forget about UCD or UCSD - two great schools in their own right
