I loved prune juice, believe it or not. Really cold prune juice. I was also into artichokes (dipped in lots of melted butter, of course). Cold condensed milk straight from the can...mmm. Cream in my applesauce. Homemade French bread with butter and brown sugar on top. All of these learned from my dad!

pp here - yeah, I know it's hard to believe but I grew up in Asia late 60's early 70' and it was pretty common food source. When I was about 10 or so I looked at it carefully and that was it. That was the last day I had it. Back then, it was a good way to supplement protein because meat was so expensive. I haven't gone back but I think they still have it.

I went through a phase of eating cheese blintzes accompanied by half a head of iceburg lettuce, dry.

Put cheddar American cheese on potato chips and microwved. The chips intantly soggy, the cheese crusted.

I also ate mayo out of the jar with a spoon.

Maybe add yellow mustard and potato chips. Not kidding. It was actually quite tasty!

I'm the olive sandwich PP and my mom also did peanut butter and pickles. Also peanut butter and bacon, which sounds much better these days.

Fried baloney sandwiches are still popular in some places. Get 'em at the deli.
