I don't answer polls, but I do have a landline. Didn't realize this is an issue for some idiots out there 
As far as bans... Well, I believe foreign (non-English speaking) news agencies on this. They claim the situation in West Africa is deteriorating, while U.S. news seem to downplay the issue. But then again, the rest of the world has landlines, so they have to be ignorant or some sh*t.

Mer should not have a travel ban because we should be traveling to Africa to fight the disease so that it does not spread to the US. But you can't expect people to sign up for a one way trip to go to Liberia to follow get the disease.

Do you know how much aid and resources poor into African countries on a yearly basis? Enough that everyone at the top can skim off enough to be millionaires, and then the people below can skim off enough to live a basic middle class life, and then the people below them can skim off some to live a low income life style, and the people below them skim off enough to escape grinding poverty and after it's made it's way through all that, whatever money is left over goes to improvements, the truly poor, etc. Seriously lending and direct aid to the African continent is a black hole. A better answer? Stop all aid tomorrow to the entire continent and block all flights off the continent.

The only valid argument I've heard against it, is that officials in affected countries will stop reporting cases, fudge numbers, sweep under the rug, etc. and that the picture will become muddy and false. Some people in public health argue that you want to encourage the affected countries to full disclosure and case reporting.
But I'm wondering:
-cases are under reported anyway
-if we have our nationals in these countries helping, our country will get some kind of a live picture, that can't be censored
-Europe has to be a primary part in these restrictions, as most flights route through Europe, and anyways, if there are major outbreaks in Europe we are screwed, too
-handling travel of Americans to their relatives in affected countries; every day dozens of Americans return from visiting their relatives in West Africa, visa restrictions will not help here.
-more countries will have outbreaks - what should be the threshold of imposing travel restrictions (example: Spain)
More needs to be done than just tackling one aspect of it.
This is complicated, and will just get more complicated.
The temperature check is a good place to start, but it's just a start.
We are already behind the eight ball.
But I'm wondering:

Take your concerns to the ballot box in November. Call those up for reelection, even the dog catcher, and tell them this is an important issue to you.
Bingo. Look up the candidates that truly support these bans and cross party lines if necessary
