Depends a lot on industry and function. There's not a lot of finance here so you don't see numbers quite as high as you might if you posed the question in a NYC or sfo board

Statistically there aren't any bschools in this country where earning 400-500 isn't doing really well compared to peers. That's BS.


Probably a troll, but it might be a function of industry / circle of friends. If I compare myself to my PE and IB friends I make jack shit, many of them if not all of them are north of $500k now. Some (and not an insignigicant #) are north of a million. Compared to my $200k and change....I'm only a few years out, Pp may be in a similar boat and just have more years behind him/her.

Not sure where you got that top 5 list I'm a Kellogg grad. I do strategy / analytics work.

Top 10 finance program, CFA charterholder
5 years at CEB before b school
4 years post MBA, making 125k+30k in a nonstressful 40hr/wk finance/research role

Seems low compared with those just graduating.


Not sure but I make significantly more than that without an MBA. I also have never had any student loans.

5 years post MBA, top 20
160 base, another 15k salary.
Consulting, recently switched to federal consulting(in same company) for no travel. Working 40-45 hours a week. Worked a ton more when I did commercial consulting.

$120k base, minimal bonus, government consulting
40-45 hours/week, minimal stress, no travel

Would pursue a more challenging, higher-wage job but would likely lose work-life balance.

Non Top 20 MBA and make $150k base + 2-3.5x bonus. There aren't that many finance jobs here, but there are some. A few large banks have large offices here, there are the larger fund managers and PE shops, and lots of fund managers tapping into the power base here.
