I'm 44, and have been on the same low dose BC pill for years (which used to mitigate all the crap I've just listed, but doesn't seem to any more). Should I go off the pill? This really sucks and I missed work today. My mom had her menopause very late (55) so I guess I'm in perimenopause, but still get regular periods.
Anyone else going through this nonsense? Especially the nausea?
48. I have very heavy bleeding with heavy clotting. Spotting a day before. I am exhausted during certain days of my cycle. I have headaches (migraines) but have always had these. The also seem much more likely on certain days of my cycle. The doctor recommended birth control pills, which actually made the headaches worse. I think most of the symptoms are linked to my estrogen levels starting to decrease as part of perimenopause. IMO, it's worth trying 3-6 months off the BC pill, but I would first journal your symptoms daily for 3 months before going off and journaling your symptoms after. It was only by journaling that I was able to see patterns across cycles.
