I'm a NP but yes, I do that. I never wear shoes in the house, nor do my kids. I don't think that is rare.

So, sweat just ends up tracked all over your flooring rather than contained inside your shoes?

So….do you have a foot sweat problem? Because my feet don't sweat when I'm barefoot and I doubt most people's do.

NP here - you have to store your shoes somewhere, right? If not the entryway or mud room, where are you putting them (and does that place smell?)? We keep our shoes in a basket in our coat closet and they don't seem to smell, but I don't keep our hiking boots/workout shoes there - they live in the basement.

OP here. Damn, that is perfect, except that it is 4 inches too wide. I like those boxes because they are 13" so they will fit my husband's shoes.

In regards to the smell, a lot of times people just get used to it so they don't even realize there's a smell.

OP here. Our shoes don't stink. If my shoes start to stink, I buy odor eater insoles.

We also take shoes off and wear slippers instead but my shoes do stink and I wish I had a way of not stinking up the doorway.
