It's beyond second tier.

LOL! I went to SJSU and work for Google. It's great. I had 0 debt and made six figures quite quickly, plus all the perks, bonuses, stock options. COL in SV sucks, though, so they have to pay a lot.

Agree with other PP about specific schools with good CS dept. That's why you don't see schools like Princeton or Yale on the list. They are not really known for their CS dept.

You people make me laugh. You must not be in CS. It has a good CS dept. That's why high tech companies hire CS students from there. Duh.

People in the DMV area live in there own little Ivy bubble. Yea, I know, people in SV live in their own high tech bubble, but that's where most of the high tech jobs are, and since this post is about high tech, PP post was really stupid.

It makes sense to go to a univ. that has a good dept. in the area that you want to study, and not just some name brand school. The general public may recognize your name brand school, but people in certain industries don't care about general name brand. They generally know which schools have a strong CS dept - like SJSU.

It may be beyond second tier but I highly doubt that the powers that be at Apple really care what we think.

Nailed it.
Nobody cares. People work, or not, where they want.

And which one is your company that rivals Apple?
Or Google or Microsoft.

Microsoft????
Not everybody uses a Mac/Apple. DC loves the Mac. I prefer Windows. Different strokes for different folks.

Really? That's surprising because it's very much a commuter school. I went there in the 90's.

Rest assured, nothing has changed in Silicon Valley in the last two decades

For a $600 billion company like Apple, there are other players in the game. Thumbs up to Apple!

well that's just dumb; obviously all the schools on the list are clustered around Apple's headquarters in Silicon Valley. What? You think San Jose St. is now on par with Harvard and Yale because it has the most employees at Apple?
Not the OP but get off your sanctimonious high horse. Nobody said San Jose State is on par with HYP. It is you who is drawing your own erroneous conclusions. The fact is that Apple has chosen these grads, and numerically are the majority alum.

When you get $600 billion, then you can choose.
