I think you must be the psycho neurotic I used to work with. This is something she definitely would post.

I've done it several times. Nobody's ever bothered us.

You've been compromised....the robber probably took the key he got copied IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT LAST NIGHT, let himself into your house, and is hiding in your attic RIGHT NOW....waiting for you to go to sleep.

One eye open bitches.

Where exactly would one go to copy a key during the middle of the night...i can't think of one place that would do this...

I think that, at the very least, the scenario you are worried about should at least be POSSIBLE....

I've done this several times and also have a screen door that blocked them somewhat. Never thought about switching the locks.

I should leave my keys out more.

To the OP, I've done that a couple of times as well. I've also left my car unlocked all night on the street. Sadly, nobody wants my 14 year old Honda Civic.

I'm really glad to hear that. It's bizarre that such a service even exists.

Where can you get a set of keys made in the middle of the night? I'd like to know where there is a 24 hour hardware store.

What kind of neighborhood has occasional break in? I hope you have an alarm.

Plenty of neighborhoods do in DC and other cities.
