OP, you were in the right.
If there is one thing I can not stand, it is pissy service people. If I am nice to you, you be nice to me, dig? If I obviously came here for your service, you do it, and shut it. I don't need your commentary.
I get it, if someone is cold and demanding, that is the time for the service people to dig in their heels. But too often, it seems they get it wrong, and are pissy to the nice customers - the wrong customers!
You were in the right. You are (were) a paying customer. You tried to be nice, and they snipped right back. Unacceptable.
I had this happen to me, when a parent died, and I needed my hair done. Can you imagine? Some people have no soul. And no brain! I guess that's why they are there. But I digress.
I would Yelp them just to make a point. After all, all anyone believes in is the negative reviews, anyway. The positive reviews are usually written by friends.
Get 'em, OP!

If they feel like your business is not profiting them because the stress it causes, they may just want you to stop coming. But if you are not usually a problem customer, yeah, I think it is a strange way to treat a regular customer.

Charging for 2 appointments when they clearly have some time management issues themselves is absurd. She should have just kept her mouth shut.
You should still call the salon and tell them what happened. They need to know about this employee and how she interacts with their customers.
