^^The furniture there isn't cheap but it isn't outrageous. I'd say it compares to Ethan Allen. They carry some of the same brands as Urban Country in Bethesda but charge less.

+1. Nice people there.

We had good luck there too. Look at the Gotham chair. Slim profile but very comfortable even for a big person.

No prices on their website. Should I be afraid?

I moved into a 1400SF place and in shopping for a sofa found that even when the length was acceptable, the depth was oversized or the arms were too high and outsized, I was pleased with Random Harvest's offerings and quality
and eventally bought one there that looks like it was custom made for my small space. I now see some other companies have jumped into the market. I also bought an armchair at Arhause(sp?) that is scaled smaller and just love it. I dragged my daughter around to sit in furniture for months, we are both pleased with the outcome. I wanted a more transitional look that would showcase my modern art collection without looking "midcentury trendy".

Oops forgot to mention that the Gotham chair is by CR Laine. Hollis and Knight in Kensington can also sell you stuff from CR Laine.

Ethan Allen has furniture at a smaller scale that could work. Totally worthwhile to go to the store and talk to the designers there.

Get a single cushion, if possible (a bench cushion?), as that will allow more people to sit on it comfortably.
