00:34 here. We worked with Katrina at DVC Rental store.
It worked out well and she was very patient.
I wanted more interaction with someone who was booking it. One of the other major booking services doesn't really talk to you - you give them an idea of what you want and then authorization to book it right away if they find something close. That scared me.
I was able to go back and forth with Katrina a bit. We booked only 30 days in advance (though it was low season) so we did have an issue with our first choice available one minute and gone the next. However, we were thrilled with our 2nd choice (Animal Kingdom Lodge) and if it hadn't been such short notice, it would have been easier.
You can of course just buy them from the DVC member but that scared me. If they make a mistake or lie to you - you do not want that potential nightmare,
I'm sure there are other services. Check around because some have discounted points during promotions. I guess that only works if you are several months out and flexible on travel dates. If not, just go to DVC Rental store.
We go to Disney a lot and I like to book everything myself because I'm very picky. It really was a smooth process though so I would do it again.
OP I really want to know how it goes for you - regardless of how you book it. Is it your first trip?
