Is this in a bad part of DC? In Arlington you'd be paying twice as much for the same house.

Not a 'bad' part of DC, but 13th is somewhat busy street, a bit far to walk to petworth metro/restaurants easily (but can be done) and the schools are not good. It is currently among the most expensive houses for that area, though a few blocks west on the other side of 14th you will find some comps.

the pros are that it has tons of space, renovated, perahsp a full rental unit in the basement, and is attractive. Might go for upper 800s? low 900s? I'll be watching (we live nearby).

The location would not work for us and there are aspects I don't like, but I love the top floor. BFF growing up had similar top floor and shared it with her sister. Some of my best childhood memories.

It's a beautiful house. People on here are just jaded. I have no opinion on if it's worth the money, but it's certainly attractive.

I so love that front porch.

IDK about the staging but I saw some Home Depot cabinetry...Particle Board.

The house isn't staged. However, as far as I am concerned, as long as one has kids, they have some Ikea. We certainly do.

1) that's not staging
2) that's not Ikea furniture. It looks like a jumble of stuff.

Never thought I'd say this but that home actually has too many windows.

That is NOT staged. That nasty looking faux velveteen bed covering? They would have done better to have photographed it vacant or have done virtual staging.

It's not that beautiful from the outside in person.

Beautiful home but by God that furniture is ugly.

The "house poor" comment was a joke. I just don't think it was a good idea to "stage" the house with the furniture they chose.

This isn't a new build. They rehabbed a home that was falling into pieces. The old home was made out of painted white wood.

That's a nice house. And it's not staged - looks like they threw some furniture in there so you could tell how big the rooms are. (or to distinguish one bedroom from another, etc.) Not sure it's worth a million - I don't know the neighborhood - but I like this house.
