OP, I showered after hot yoga yesterday before picking up my daughter from daycare, and I still sweated through my dress and had a scruffy ponytail. So, don't worry about it. The workout is more important.

And I agree with PPs: my daughter loves to go for runs and will now ask if I'm sweating while we run. The answer is always yes. I'm a much better parent to her and her little brother because I make the time to exercise.

Of course it's fine!

For the snarky pp, my kid loves having a fame full of people that value fitness. We kick butt. I wish I had learned I was capable of that before 30. Our kid is learning that we are all capable of that from an early age.

Towel yourself off, OP. You'll be fine.

Just don't sacrifice time with your kid!

I've been doing that for years. I have also run my child to daycare/preschool dozens of times and walked her INTO school in the morning while sweaty. I just don't hug her hello or goodbye in those circumstances.

You have to fit the workout in wherever you can! That's one secret to happy life balance.

Do kids not take the school bus now? I don't even understand the purpose of this question. ..

Anonymous wrote:Yup. Twice a week I run on the school campus and go get my kid still sweaty and red. That's when I have time. AND I keep my kid in aftercare an extra 30 minutes in order to have time to exercise. I felt guilty at first, but don't anymore since I feel so much better now that I am exercising again.

I do the same thing.

Nope, I rush to get my kid so I can be with him. I would work out only when my time with my child is not sacrificed.

i was waiting for the annoying self-righteous post...

not only self righteous, but a reading comprehension fail, as OP didn't say anything about sacrificing time with her child (who is IN SCHOOL) to work out.

although, I have no issues admitting that I sacrifice time with my kids (if you count 6-7 am quality time!) to work out. My 2 and 4 year old know that Mommy exercises, and we have discussed why exercise is a healthy habit.

Same for me. My kid knows that mommy and daddy go "Fast fast fast!" (which on some days is a bit aspirational). Now he loves his "jogger" and likes to come along too.

I think the original meanie comment must have just been a troll, but I agree with this totally. Taking care of yourself is important, and it's even more important to teach and model for your children. As a mother, it's particularly important to me to provide a model of self-care for my daughters. Plus I just love to run.
