I got the TDap at the Minute Clinic at CVS. It was administered the same way it would have been at the Drs office, and it was way easier! Plus, they take insurance. Worked out perfectly!

I get all my vaccines and kids vaccines at the CVS minute clinc is our neighborhood. When I get them at our physicians office I have to pay a 15 dollar co pay even though the vaccine itself is fully covered. At CVS there is no co pay. I have three kids so this adds up to a significant chunk of change. Dh gets his flu shot at work but did get dtap at cvs.

Flu shots at the pharmacy (minute clinic, CVS) - mainly because I can get everyone in the family inoculated in August, before school starts.

Additionally, I do not have to shell out for the co-pay ($15 per person, per visit), so that is a saving of $60 from my pocket for a family of 4. Totally covered by my insurance. Just walk in and out. No appointments.

What's not to like?

I don't know--my pharmacist volunteered that they had the flu shot in already and asked if I wanted the shot. He doesn't seem to mind giving the shots. Maybe it's a nice little break from what he does the rest of the day.

I got the flu shot and my TDaP booster at the pharmacy. Super easy, no appointment needed, and covered totally by my insurance.

Do you hang out near pharmacy counters for hours every day, listening to the private questions each customer asks, and follow them into the little room to see what happens? If not, your personal experience has no relevance. But thanks for sharing!

I trust my pharmacist at least as much as (if not more than) my physician.

You get the lot number and records. It's not a butcher shop procedure for crying out loud

Of course you haven't seen them. They do it in the clinic room, not in aisle 4.

They write down the lot number of the vaccine so they can track who got it if there are adverse reactions.

What about accountability if there is a problem? If there is a bad reaction to a vaccine at a pediatrician's office is a lot easier to tell if it a bad batch of vaccine or the individual child, because the ped has administered so many doses.

I've received flu, shingles and pneumonia vaccinations from our local pharmacist. No problems.
