I agree. I'm 15 now and am a 34C. I love Pink and have been going there since I was 12 and a 32AA. I think it's important to feel mature and like u fit in.

I was also going to suggest Target. Actually had to buy my almost-9 year old some of the white sports bra things because some of the shirts she was looking at were so thin and she didn't want to wear a camisole underneath. Oy vey.

Took my 12 yo to Nordstrom today and was disappointed in the service and selection.

Found a big variety at Target that will probably work fine for now.

Don't get the Yellowberry hype. There are lots of similar bras around -- they are more like camisole/sports bras. She just got media attention.

OP here -- Great suggestions all - I'm going to check out Aerie as well. Good for the girl who started Yellowberry (girl power!), but I'd prefer something DD can try on for now.

For sportsbras you can just go to Target or CitySports. For other bras, Nordstrom is great. I'm a big fan of Sylene and took DD there once when she needed a racer-back bra that wouldn't show under a lacy top (yes, Nordstrom would have this, of course, but Sylene is a lot closer to our house). Like Nordstrom, Sylene has excellent service, and has a similar price range.

Yellowberry (online): check it out just through Googling. The founder was a senior in high school who was disgusted by the bras she saw when helping her younger sister look for her first bra: images of sexualization, etc.,. She kickstarted a company and has been on the Today Show, featured widely in media, etc.,. The bras are comfortable, practical, diverse, and not sexualized or fantasized for anything other than support (in more ways than one). I get no compensation, etc., for advocating for Yellowberry -- just the satisfaction that a brilliant young woman cared enough to create options for her 'sisters'.

Kohls has a good selection and moderate prices and a section for juniors on one side of the regular bra section. And if you find a size and style you like it's easy to order more online.

I'm with you OP. Not ready to take DD on a Victoria's Secret shopping spree.

I'd also stick with JCPenney or Macys. Nordstrom sounds like a good option mentioned above.
