I think either name is fine and I prefer names with a family connection. (I never saw the Sopranos, so not everyone will have that immediate reference.)

I love Cataldo and Dominic (also family names for us). Corrado is great but you are right people will nickname him Cory.
Not gonna lie, though, I'm a huge Star Trek fan and would probably go with Gianluca
