When out young children are college age there will be many more, and better fitting, alternatives to traditional college.

I don't have kids yet. Not sure I will even save any for their college and we save over half of our salary. The tuition increases eventually have to stop and it seems like it's a huge bubble.

$260K in 529s for 3 kids aged 15, 13, and 11. Now saving $1750 per month. Actually dipping into savings to do this since gains are not taxed as long as they are spent on college.

$200K but we're unexpectedly spending it on high school for 2 children.

We have $95K for our four year old.

Probably going to hold for five years then revisit to see how things are progressing at that point.

At what $$$ amount do you expect to stop? (ie., How much is "enough"?)

It is the end of summer. We expect them back on top form in 2 weeks.

3 year old. Prepaid plan. Costs around 3400/year. Total of 17 payments required. We do about another 2-3k annually for misc stuff. The rest will come out of the household budget when the time comes. I would have to feed him anyway right?

What is the 50K based on?
