OP here. I often wish that the OP would check back in (what DID you name your baby? did you file for divorce or not?!). This topic isn't as exciting as those examples, but thought I'd close the loop. We finalized plans to meet at the Maryland Zoo (thanks PP!) even though I was bummed it's practically the only zoo not to have reciprocity with FONZ. Right after we'd set the meeting time, etc., she made plans to meet up with a friend in Annapolis afterward. Since it's the same distance for each of us to drive to Baltimore as it is to drive to Annapolis, Baltimore no longer made sense.
I found Kinder Farm Park through Yelp. It was fantastic! Somewhat similar to Frying Pan Farm Park, for anyone who has been there, but with a huge multi-level playground aimed at younger kids. It was perfect! We got to see the animals, play on the playground, walk along the paved trail, and have a small picnic. If anyone is looking for a place not too far from Annapolis, I highly recommend it!!

If Baltimore is a real option, the Maryland Zoo has easy parking and except for one little hill, is pretty nice and flat.

OP here. Thanks so much for all the suggestions! DCUM can be such a great resource.
I think the Bel Air park/playground sounds perfect, with the Susquehanna park near Havre de Grace a close second, but I'll float the ideas by my friend to see what she thinks.
She said she could drive all the way to DC, so I don't think Baltimore would be an issue, but I don't know the city at all, so I wouldn't know where to park, how much it would cost, etc. It might as well be NYC to me! Haha.
And a special shout-out to the PP who suggested Longwood Gardens, which is near my hometown. Such a great place! I don't think I could do a day trip there, but I was happy to see it mentioned.

Baltimore is 40 miles from DC and 100 miles from Philly. Hardly a compromise.

Lancaster, PA is about 2 hours away for both of you. But that's a long day trip with toddlers. Lots of kid-friendly things to do.
Do both of you have kids? If your friend is without kids, Baltimore is not too far from Philly and is doable for you with kids.
