How could harassing comments about the attractiveness or unattractiveness of somebody's body not be sexual harassment?

If it were high school, it would also be sexual harassment.

This is a bit of an aside, but this makes me concerned about the safety of swimmers in the pool. If the boys are busy harassing her and she is feeling upset, then it's possible that all three of them are not paying as much attention to the pool as they should.

She should file a complaint. It could be seriously jeopardizing her ability to do her job.

I would get her to put something in writing, possibly get statements from witnesses and go to the pool management expecting them to take action against the lifeguards who are doing this.

Simultaneously, encourage her to love her body the way it is, and that she doesn't have to crap from anybody. If it was at school, I'd tell her to say something directly to them. Given it is at her workplace, it's better for the management to deal with them.

Lord, OP. I had this happen to me at an office job as an adult. Frankly, I would love nothing more to post that woman's name, because she was such a loser.

Not everyone is going to like the way you look. I am not by any mean saying the boys are not cads, because they are; and their parents should have taught them to be gentlemen, but they did not. I would not expect anyone around here to come to anyone's defense, frankly. If she wants, your daughter could step and say "I heard you and I don't appreciate that. If it continues, I will file a report."

If that happened to my DC I would work to get the other lifeguards fired. That would set a powerful example for them and your DC.

Definitely support her in being more assertive about this. The truth is that these things can happen. I think the most important thing to do is speak up for yourself in the face of these things.
