NP. Why? OP was not parked in the same zone for more than 2 hours total.

I don't know about Montgomery County but many places you can contest a ticket online. If that's a possibility, I would do it here.

This is not how parking works, in any place I've ever lived.

You think I can pay for 2 hours, park for 1, leave for 6 hours, and then come back and have 1 hour of parking left?

How about if I come back a week later? Can I still carry over the hour then?

You can't be this dense.

Unmetered = Unpaid parking.

I left for 45 minutes and came back and parked in almost the same spot for an hour and got a $60 ticket. I was not there for more than 2 hours but I can see how parking enforcement could think I was there for 3 hours. Is it worth trying to fight the ticket? I was helping a friend move which is why I was going back and forth.

First, if the total time elapsed was 3 hours, and you left for 45 minutes, how were you parkinng for less that 2 hours? The math doesn't work.

Regaardless, you still owe the ticket. When you pay for your initial 2 hours, you pay for that parking session - two hours starting from the time you start. When you leave, that session terminates, regardless of whether you used up the entire time you paid or not. When you come back to park again, a new session starts. You don't get to carry over unused minuted from a previous session.

Come on, OP. You know you owe the ticket.

Depends...how much is the ticket, and how much do you value your time?

It'll take hours to protest, for a small chance of winning. Doesn't seem worth it for $60.
