There should be a way to set an over/under on how many pages or how many posts it takes for a thread to descend to DCUM-iness. We could do some friendly wagering, or make it a drinking game.

Who am I kidding. No one would pay up, they'd just bitch about it. But some people might go for the drinking game.

I'm really curious about your answer. What distinction do you see between Komi and Volt that makes one OK for kids and not the other? I've been to both and think they have a very very similar vibes.

We've been several times for weekend brunch, but never for dinner. Dinner is a much more elaborate event at Volt and not really appropriate for kids. Brunch is more informal, though still more-so than most places, so it does still demand that kids be well behaved.

That said, our kids have sat through the entire sushi tasting course at Sushi Taro with the younger one being just over 2 yrs old at the time, so it's not beyond possibility that a kid could make it through the full dinner.

Hi OP, I take my kid to many, many places (Komi, rural society, Proof) but Volt is not one that I'd do. She's 5 and good, but it's just not a place for kids.

No! People are paying a lot for that place. For many it's a rare treat. We don't want to be disturbed by your kid.

It's a roadside diner, so it's not Volt, but it's still a Voltaggio joint, and the food is really good.

+1. Family Meal is really good. OP, I would pick a place that you can reasonably bring a 3 year old and not try to have the couples night you envisioned. You will have many other anniversaries to have the special meal.
