It's the self-important transplants who come from Bumblefuck, USA and are so happy they've "made it", they become hateful SOBs. Natives are friendly folks.

The only nasty people I meet here are on DCUM. IRL not so much.

I grew up in a rural area. Nicest folks ever... Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Dentists and other professionals were celebrities. Not a dime a dozen like they are here. Too many big mouths.

Yeah, that's been all over the place. Do you know what it was based on? It was based on the level of education, home prices, private schools etc... It wasn't an actual survey of the people.

You must be in the far out suburbs. Close in suburbs are full of obnoxious, selfish, aggressive, me me me types. Think Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Arlington, etc.

I live in Bethesda and lived in Woodley Park and Georgetown before that. I have wonderful friends and wonderful neighbors. The parents at my kids school have been friendly as well. Of course there are obnoxious people here but I know some pretty obnoxious, materialistic people who live in NYC, LA etc... There are plenty of friendly people. When I hear this I wonder who on Earth are you surrounding yourself with?
