I LOVE my dog sometimes even more than my spouse. He is so cute and loves to make me smile. Best thing that has come into my life for sometime.

I just came home from visiting my parents. My sister's cat is still alive and active at 21 years old! I haven't lived there in 16 years but she still recognizes me. Every time I walked into the house she would run over and sit on my lap (she doesn't do that with everyone). We call her Mama Cat since she is so old. Her fur is now all crazy like an old, loved stuffed animal. She's just the tinyest, oldest little thing, but still in good health.

I have a blind cat with only 6 teeth. She can jump onto the bed just fine but usually stands by the side of it (always my side. she is not lost) in the middle of the night and makes what we call "dinosaur noises" until I lift her into the bed, whereupon she goes right to sleep. This can happen more than once a night. But I still love her.
We also have a younger cat whose greatest joy in life is to sneak outside when we're leaving the house. However, once she's outside all she likes to do is lay or roll around on the ground. Bonus points if a snowstorm is coming and she gets to roll on the sand our neighborhood puts down on the sidewalk. Jerk. Good thing we love them both.

My little dog barks whenever I come home, but he's just so happy to see me. When DH and I are together with him, he'll find the nearest toy and squeak the heck out of it because he's so darn happy.
He's needy but that makes him very cuddly. When I'm in bed with the laptop he sits on my chest to block my view. It's a good reminder to take a break from my work and play with him for a few minutes.

He's a 25 lb. white fluffy bichon mix, and he loves big dogs. His best friends at the dog park are two great Danes. People often think he's a fru-fru snooty dog, but he loves labs, German Shepard's, and any big dogs. And I've seen him cower at 10lb Maltese and shi tszu dogs who were barking at him.

When I open his crate at 7 am, he stretches, yawns, then jumps onto the couch to finish sleeping, until 8:30 if I let him. He often goes 12 hours without peeing because he is sleeping. Often I'm the one who needs to take him out, and I have to force him to take a walk. This dog who just LOVES to go outside otherwise.
He's a 25 lb. white fluffy bichon mix, and he loves big dogs. His best friends at the dog park are two great Danes. we've got cats who are early morning snugglers -- i really love it, even when i want more sleep -- and a dog we have to drag out of bed for his morning walk! he gives us the grumpiest look when it's time to get up.

OP here. It's great to hear other people also have crazy, early morning pets they still love.
For awhile, I did try one of those automatic feeding things for my furry vultures. The only problem was, they were still up at 5:30am, wandering around, poking me, and walking all over the place. They seemed to have a special affinity for walking ON the alarm clock, changing the time or turning off the alarm. The third time I startled awake, thinking it was 3pm and I had missed the day and nearly killing myself getting ready in a panic (only to discover it was actually only 8:30am), I ended the auto feedings and gave in to the Kitty Alarm System.
I haven't overslept since.

I have an early riser too...a little dog with a high, piercing bark at 5:55 every a.m. on the dot when she wants to get out of her crate. Wish I could trust her not to pee in the house overnight but she has a little bladder. Sigh. She does make me laugh every a.m. at how she races around in circles when she gets out of the crate. And, she's a great cuddler and likes to fetch things you wouldn't think a little dog could carry.
