So let's say the number is wrong, and say, five Palestinians crawled out of a tunnel in Israeili military uniforms, and this time were not met by Israeli soldiers. And those Palestinians murdered a bunch of Israeli men, women, and children, and kidnapped others. Would The IDF have lied because there were only 5 and not hundreds?

I don't believe this forum existed when that was happening. But, I certainly did criticize that practice. I oppose all attacks on civilians. But, this is a very strange question for this particular thread. Are you suggesting that simply because I ask for authoritative sources for sensational allegations that I must support the killing of innocent civilians? That would be a really weird thought process.

A really weird thought process is knowing these attacks occurred, saying you denounce them, they denying they can happen again via use of these tunnels...

I don't have to. Why? Because multiple tunnels that end at or near Kibbutzim plus Palestinians crawling out of them like rats dressed in Israeli military uniforms plus the finding of weaponry! handcuffs, sedatives etc plus confirmation by American visitors of such tunnels plus the discovery of more tunnels with multiple exits plus more weaponry equals the reason to find out what the fuck is planned by a bunch of Palestinian prisoners. And apparently, they sung like canaries, each telling the IDF of the same plot, who informed Netanyahu, who then told his cabinet.

Now I can believe your version if:

Those tunnels opened elsewhere
AND
Palestinians hadn't crept over the border like rats specifically to murder Israeli citizens in terror bombings
AND
If Palestinians didn't use their own people as human shields and use their own children as human bombs
AND
Those tunnels didn't contain materials to kidnap and kill
AND
If multiple Palestinian fighters didn't tell of the same plot
AND
If Hamas wasn't a terror group

So armchair all you want. Suppose and imagine, just like you did when you supposed it wasn't gang punks just outside the zoo. You were wrong then too, but would not admit it. Instead you engaged in your typical logic twisting and attempts at humiliation towards a poster.

The purpose of cross border tunnels is to move things across the border with out being detected. In the US, cross border tunnels are used to smuggle drugs and (sometimes) people. In the US the tunnels do not stretch very far, usually less than 1 km. Probably the same is true in Gaza.

But, if Hamas is building tunnels under the border, that is an invasion of Israel by Hamas. Israel has a right to protect itself. Tunnels are a threat.

Finding tunnels is hard....

Palestinians are tortured till they confess whatever the Israelis want them to. They are then made to sign papers in Hebrew that they do not understand, can't read and that are held against them. So, to answer your question, I have no faith in anything that comes out of Netanyahu's mouth unless there is substantive independent evidence....
