I'm just curious - I'm not looking these people up every day and obsessing about them.

I wouldn't call that cyber stalking.

I'm a PP that "cyber stalks" the guy from the race and the girl I saw in his pictures.

I've googled his name to see what I can find. If I see on his facebook page that someone makes a comment, I might look at their profile or even google their name (depending on what kind of comment). When I see he has new friends on Facebook, I've looked them up--tried to determine what kind of relationship he has with them--is this someone he knows from work? An old high school classmate? Someone he met through running? Etc.

My "will they or won't they" best guy friend from my teens and 20s. I stalk his twitter account. I'm happily married to an awesome guy, but had a connection with this friend that I've never been able to replicate. I think there's an allure there because we never hooked up. I'm sure if we had I would have put it to rest a long time ago as I never felt we had much physical chemistry!

Most recent ex bf because we live in a smallish town and hang out at the same places. Fortunately, he loves checking into places so the ladies can find him and I know where to avoid that night.

Ex boyfriend from high school - we also dated again in our 20s. I check his FB profile a couple of times a year to see what he's up to. We are toxic together and I don't want to be with him but I do care about him. He's a risk taker with a job that poses some occupational hazards and I like to check up on him to make sure he's doing ok. Not to mention if I get sentimental it's a good reminder of how glad I am that I escaped that lifestyle.

An ex lover, people I hated from law school, people from high school, which I mostly hated too. For the last two categories, I enjoy seeing their pictures of kids and marriages, so I guess I don't hate them so much.

Oh hells no. I don't bother. In fact, I hide them on FB. I find them in your face about what they do with whom, which is the annoying part. (Otherwise, I wouldn't hide them.) Like PP, I check the blocked ones twice per yearish, to see what they are up to. Same old same old. They seem superficial and shallow and not as much fun as they think they might be.
