Op here. My mom is like 15:40s sister, which is why it stands out. Giving her a framed picture would be bringing coals to Newcastle and honestly that seems far more passive aggressive than saying something. I brought it up with her in private today and she just had not gotten around to it and was embarrassed esp when I pointed out to her how weird it looks to have pics of sisters STBX around. Turns out she was also called on it by a cousin of mine who noticed tons of pics of her siblings and none of her. She has picked out some pics from my wedding, and I'm up nursing the baby and anticipate seeing them switched out when i am done.

Not PA for many of us. I have a lot of pics with my sis and my side of the family. Once I realized we have a lot fewer pics of DH's family. Why? Well, we just didn't have any old family pics of them at all whereas I have a couple of my parents/gparents..
I don't frame and hang pics myself usually, just one of each kid. My sister is crafty and is a picture freak, lol, and would send me beautiful framed pics of our children, of me and her, of my parents. She made frames with my kids when they were little. She made frames with her kids when they were little, and sent them to me That's why.

I did make an effort to add some more ofDH& his family, but really did not notice it for years. It doesn't mean I don't like them! I would have felt badly if they were offended by it. But honestly I did not think of the 'discrepancy' in pics, for many years.

I think my mom has very few pics of me compared to other friends and family because she doesn't feel I do enough to display pictures of her in my home.

OP do you have pics of your mom framed in your house?

Yeah, I don't get it either. My MIL didn't have any photos of me, but did have ones of my spouse and kids. Who really cares, other than your DH.

Do not give framed photos of yourself as gifts to be displayed in other people's homes. Yuck! People decorate their homes the way they wish. I doubt it's intentional to omit your DH from any pictures.

My in-laws give us framed photos of themselves to us as gifts. If I like the frame, I put in a different picture. They live 10 minutes away. Why do I need multiple pictures of them in our house??

I vote inertia and not understanding that you perceive this as some kind of insult. If she didn't like your husband, you'd know by now. Just give her a framed photo of you, your husband, and your child as a gift.

thisssss -- whooo caressss ? my dh has TOO MANY pics of our kid up in our living room (in my opinion). I see the kid live and in living color -- i don't need her staring at me from a frame!
My grandmom has the same framed photos of me and my cousin up on her wall since we were kids and she had 6 more grands and great grands -- people run out of steam
I hate all those photo walls - blech

Replacing them secretly is insane.
