OP here. We have four kids, so all the walls in our home have a satin or gloss finish so they can be scrubbed. We are using professional painters, so I am hopeful that it will turn out nice. Will probably go one or two shades lighter, so the walls really won't be dark. Also: the bathroom has a cathedral height, oversized skylight (so the room has a lot of natural light). Thanks!

My Powder Room is painted Raccoon Fur by Benjamin Moore - its a deep dark navy, almost black. When I painted it, I chose the matte finish because I do not like paint with a sheen to it. BIG MISTAKE. I was constantly wiping the walls down because they looked "ashy." And this is a room that gets little to no use.

Definitely go for a satin finish. Other than that, I LOVE my bathroom and have had many compliments. Even had a friend of mine use the color in her house cause she liked it so much.

That happened to us, too. If you decide to go dark, be sure to use a glossy finish (you will need professional painters to do a perfect job, which you need because a shiny finish shows every tiny flaw); it will help with cleanup.

I do love our dark color. I'm just bummed that it has not help up well.

I looked at your tile and I think that going a shade or two lighter might complement your tile better. But Bracing Blue is very pretty. I'm sure you will get a lot of complements with any of those shades on the strip.

You should get some samples and paint large squares either on the wall or cardboard in that room and hold it up to them.

I agree - I think it's a shade or two too dark and you'll lose your tile. Also make sure the colors on that chip look good with your medium brown porcelain tile - there's a purplish tone in there (I have the Upward shade in my daughter's bathroom and it has a lavender tinge).
