Scripps is #24 on the National SLAC rankings + you have access the the #5, #8, #15 SLACS - collectively the Claremont Colleges might be a top 5-10 college choice.

The best Claremont colleges, of course, are Pomona, CMC, and Harvey Mudd. Scripps comes in ahead of Pitzer, I guess. Beautiful campuses all around. The town is nice and has lots of restaurants and stores. Not a college town, though. But Pasadena is a relatively short drive and, of course, LA isn't all that far. Out of all the Claremont colleges, CMC is still the most "conservative," but that's changing, and only a couple of departments, Gov't chief among them, are even vaguely conservative any more.

Harvey Mudd is close to 50/50 these days, no longer skewed male. The Colleges are intertwined geographically with extensive cross registration between the campus, so there is continuous interaction.

The Claremont Colleges have a fantastic consortium, in part because they're right next to each other. I hear Scripps students socialize a lot with Harvey MUdd (which skews male).

Wow, the PC police really comes out in full force whenever anything that doesn't portray lesbian sex in anything other than glowing terms in all circumstances is articulated.

Give me a break. Sounds like a school that some kids would consider too liberal or libertine, and others might not.
