I got one ripe tomato, but all the rest have so far gone to critters. They eat them green! A-holes!

My container has chicken wire on 4 sides, but I'm betting it's still rats.

I can't find it now but last year I found an article that said: The moment a tomato starts to blush, there is a sealing-off process within it and it will then ripen the same whether you leave it on the plant or remove it.

So I have just been taking them off and leaving them on the countertop at the first sign of blush.

Same look for ours. My boyfriend built two of these and bolted them on to the tomato planter boxes.
