Subject: 5-year-old with fever 4 days, no other symptoms
This thread is from 2014...we should assume OP's child has recovered from whatever caused the fever.

Do you realize you just revived a 5 month old posting just to call people judgey. Now that's irony! LOL

She sent her kid to camp with a fever. I think the term “asshole” is appropriate. Though, I would most likely put the word “selfish” in front of it.
Kids and parents often have underlying conditions, immune issues, parents on chemo, etc. knowingly exposing people to a sick kid is atrocious behavior.

I agree with the last post. The “shame on you for taking your kid to camp” responses are so self-righteous and snotty. This woman came here for help, not people telling her what a “terrible” person she is. None of ya’ll are perfect parents and probably do things that other parents wouldn’t agree with either.

I know this post is 4 years old but if anyone ever finds it via a Google search (as I did) I wanted to leave a comment. First off, the mom-shaming was NOT necessary! This was a mother asking a simple question about her child. She was not asking to be chastised by a bunch of judgmental women. Not everyone has the luxury to take time off to take care of their children. Does it mean she is a terrible mother? NO! Yes, she took time off prior to her child getting sick but I am sure if her crystal ball was functioning properly, she would have known not to take time off in order to take care of her future ill child. Do not judge someone based off the flexibility of your own life. Also, here is a thought - how do you think her child became sick in the first place. Say what you will but every single one of you have been to work, church, the grocery store, somewhere and encountered someone who was sick. Hell, the man had embola and left quarantine to go on a bike ride! So in the future, don't be a judgmental asshole and just offer help without an opinion because the day will come when you are standing in the glass house.
