I also had this happen except my DSS was a teenager. My response was "Ooo-kaayy" and never mentioned it again. Treated the young man the same as I always had. I'm an adult, I'm my DSS's stepmother and crushes happen. As adults have we never fantasized or had a crush on a colleague or neighbor or movie star? That reality is normal, what's inappropriate is that the young man mentioned it to your stepson and your stepson mentioned it to you. If you were your stepson's mom would his friend have said "Dude, your mom's hot!"?

Ignore it. Treat both young men as you always would and go on about your life.

You sound way too excited about this. I have a 16 year old stepson. Occasionally his friends will say "Your stepmom is hot" or even (ew) try to friend me on Facebook. I roll my eyes and ignore it. It's not that thrilling. You really need to ask yourself why this is so titillating for you.

I would be flattered by having a younger guy have a crush on me, but as the older adult, it is your responsibility to make sure things stay proper all the way.

Just make sure you act in an appropriate fashion at ALL times, even if you find yourself alone w/him for whatever reason. If possible, try to limit contact w/this friend if you can.

Do not make some silly excuse why his friend cannot stay w/you, that would only raise eyebrows and then your step-son would wonder if perhaps it had anything to do w/what he disclosed to you. It would sound to him like you didn't trust yourself.
