I completely agree. This is not funny at all. Aggressive driving destroys lives.

I know a guy who is nice socially, but he is also the most aggressive driver I've ever seen and considering how aggressive DC driving is, that says a lot. He's got all the red flags as your guy. The problem is his fiance never stands up to him about it. She'll do the non-committal shit like "DH, slow down! Geez." But that does nothing.

What she NEEDED to do and NEEDS to do now is tell him that they are NOT getting married until he starts driving like a respectable member of society. Guy here--I wouldn't date a woman who was a balls-out aggressive driver. There is a special sort of pathology among asshole drivers. Pleasant people in normal life, but when they get behind the wheel, they transform into monsters. And society suffers.

I know someone like this. He's normally a very centered, nice guy, but he is truly dangerous and out of control on the road. His wife bought him a DVD about road rage and I think it helped, along with having kids.

I know, OP! It stresses me out to see the car in front only inches away while driving at 70 miles an hour!

DH must like thrills. He can't do catamaran races anymore, he doesn't work in the ER anymore, so perhaps this is an outlet. Driving with him is one long chorus of the kids and I intoning "SLOW DOWN!" every 5 minutes.

And as for the DH holding his wife's hand - Ha!

When I was pregnant, DH's driving sometimes made me nauseous, and he's not that bad of a driver. Whenever I told him I felt like vomiting he would slow down.
Maybe you could like you're in pain whenever he breaks hard.

You need to have a SERIOUS talk with him. Is he going to do that with the baby in the car as well? I hope you have excellent car insurance and disability insurance. Only a matter of time before he causes an accident.
