Also, if you're looking for things to do - check out Wolf Trap's schedule. you can get lawn seats, have dinner and a show, and be able to bail if she gets nervous (although getting out of the crowded parking lot at the end of the show may be another issue,,,)

We went to Rocklands, because my guest loves BBQ. We went during the mid afternoon (off time). We parked on street next to picnic area, and we sat at the picnic area, so that we were outside and it was quiet, and I left her the car keys so she could step out to the car at any point. I told her I had paid for the meal so we could leave anytime she wanted, although she didn't do that, maybe it made her feel better that we left that an option.

It was very nice, quiet, and we had a great time. So just a thought in case that helps out anyone else in the future.

I get freaked out by crowded restaurants. If I'm going someplace more popular I go early in the evening (get there by 6:00) and preferably on an evening other than Fri or Sat. Or I do lunch instead of dinner, also outside of rush times.

Personally I love places with booths and places that are designed to be quiet, and hate places that have a ton of metal and high ceilings because they get so loud.

Sorry I don't have specifics, but it's nice of you to think of her needs!
