Why use all caps for those certain words?

Didn't all of this happen quite some time ago? If so, how will that hurt enrollment now?

Seriously?? Are you CRAZY?!!! We have 2 children in Catholic middle school now and were considering sending them to Potomac since we have friends who send their kids there. But after learning about what went on there and how the administration covered it up, there is NO WAAAAY, I'm sending my kids there! It took over 30 years for this to unravel ... who know what other scandals might be uncovered at Potomac School in another 30+ years?!

Yeah, because the Catholic church does such a fabulous job of dealing with sexual abuse, right?

What about Beauvoir???? They let a pedophile walk right off their campus and disappear. And it wasn't decades ago. I think that's disgusting.

Good, don't send a child there. Next.

Your statement is lumping ALL Catholic Schools in the same category which is like lumping ALL Private Schools in the same category since Potomac is a private school. That implies families should avoid sending their kids to Private Schools all together (so enrollments will decline) and flood Public Schools instead!

OP your wild, over the top accusations only diminish the real horror of what happened. When you accuse everyone (anyone who was at the school? parents who send their children there now?) its the same as accusing no one. Its meaningless.

They have this horror in their history and they're trying to deal with it. If you don't like the way they are dealing with it, don't send your children there.

And keep in mind that there are scandals like this at quite a few area schools, not all of which have come become public. Pedophiles seek out kids and unfortunately in the past those in positions of authority either looked the other way or handled things inadequately. This is true pretty much everywhere. What happened at Potomac was egregious, but Potomac is not alone.

And since you've entrusted your children to the Catholic Church you should know this.

In other words, calm down.
