500 per season, under a quarter acre.
The prices are by yard size, and you can bargain. Get quotes from different companies. It has worked for us, and our neighbors are not spraying.

The extinction of all bees in the next 4 years. Autism and ADHD both have links to pesticides as well.

We hardly have mosquitoes this year. I am vigilant about emptying standing water, in the sand boxes, any kids toys that are around, etc. I do it every time it rains. It's made a huge difference. We hardly get bitten now and we've had years where we couldn't use the yard.I also have the downspout empty into a flexible tube that's at an angle, and that I can tip out and drain.

I broke down and got our yard sprayed because we literally can't walk out the door without being swarmed. Our neighbors don't use the service but that doesn't seem to matter. We have very few mosquitos in our yard now. This is the third year we've had it and I'm still loving it. We pay $50/treatment.

For the poster who found it too expensive this year, you should bargain with the company. They wanted to charge me $600 for the season and I was able to get it for $250. There is a lot of competition and once you get it for that price, you can ask for it again.

You gotta stop drinking it from the bottle. It's fine if you apply it and let it dry but please stop drinking it and writing on dcum.

We use mosquito terminators and they charge a low fee per spray.

OP, sorry that the haters. If you want to research what's in this stuff, you should, but obviously DCUM isn't the plan. I used MS the past 2 summers; it was awesome for enabling our active kids to actually use our yard. The neighbors weren't on board but it still was effective. This year we've been lucky that the mosquitos weren't bad until now; that plus the fact that MS was advertising rates of $700 for biweekly spraying made me opt out this year.

Wishing now that I hadn't since the kids were eaten alive today. But $700 seems like highway robbery given how quickly these treatments are done. If anyone finds any better deals, please pass them along.

This kind of pesticide use will be seen much like cigarette smoking one day- of COURSE no decent parent would expose their child to it, and everyone will wonder why anyone ever thought it was ok.

This is what I would worry about-- spending the money, risking the chemicals, and then no payoff because our neighbors have a giant mud puddle in their yard, tons of toys collecting rain water, etc.

Protect your daughter. Don't spray.

They will spray a barrier around the home and any neighbors bushes or trees

Thanks for lowering the IQ and raising the chance of autism for your neighbors. Mightily neighborly of you.

That's false, don't blame your personal problems and iq on anybody besides yourself
