C'mon, what do you mean that a Yale Law degree and three years writing briefs at Big Law doesn't qualify someone to be a Deputy Assistant Secretary?

There are no lobbying restrictions coming from the Administration, but I agree with a previous poster that there will be a bum rush at the end of the Administration for private sector jobs. I personally think it is too risky for both earners to be political appointees. OP, can you start to look for a new position so your DH has a chance? I don't blame him for wanting to jump from BigLaw. It's a miserable existence.

Keep in mind that you are limiting your job options by becoming a political appointee. Heavy lobbying restrictions, plus now if you want a career attorney position, opm has to approve your hire.
