My kids also loved the camp at Croydon Creek, but the lack of before/after care makes it tough for us to swing.

Oh, I just googled it, sorry. I see it is the McLean School of Maryland -- not McLean, VA! Sorry!

My 6yo just did a week at "Adventures on the Farm" camp at Frying Pan Farm Park in Herndon (it's run through Katydid Camps and Fairfax County Park Authority). She loved it.

She now is at Sunshine Academy for a month and is also enjoying that and I am so glad b/c I thought it would be too hardcore, but it seems not.

I wanted to recommend to you all a wonderful summer day camp that I work at in the Springfield/Alexandria area. It is called Christian Center Kids Camp(it's also a private school during the school year) and you can find more about it online at ccmfamily.org/camp. You DON'T have to be Christian to attend the camp. They have field trips around the DC area, academics in the mornings, music, crafts, weekly swimming and park trips, ect. Before and after care is also available(6:30am-6pm). Children ages 2.5(must be potty-trained) to 12 years old are welcome to join the camp! The camp started June 16th and goes through Aug 22nd, and you pay by the week. It cost $175 per week. I used to attend it as a child and now I work there! It's so much fun, even as an adult!

But the camp is $360/week for full time. Not cheap.

my 5 and 7 year olds love Camp JCC in Rockville. Today is day 4. I love the bus service too. So convenient for working parents. They do so many different sports, swim twice a day (lesson and rec) and drama, art, ropes course, dancing, etc. So far so good.

Summer Horizons Camp-- it's our second year there, and the staff is just amazing. All professionals and super fun, great for our 4 yo. Swimming is cheap at $60-75/week.

Camp Sonshine in Maryland. Though Christian-based, atheist and other denominations come in droves. With its different activities for all ages (including teens), it's been a popular camp for years (and they have bus service). DC has outgrown Sonshine but still has good memories.

Very happy with session one at Potomac Camp for my seven year old. My son is enjoying Del Smith Football camp (Arlington).

This is my son's 3rd year at St Columba's Summer Camp, and my daughter's first year. They are loving it. They play a lot outside, have art and music classes, and do a lot of water play. We will be back again next year for sure!
