Trust me...As a Female, I would NEVER tell anyone I didn't know very well, most esp. a Male, unless I had some interest in him.

I think your friend should give her a chance. The age difference is not really significant and the whole bartender/patron thing is not really an issue here because it's not like they would be in violation of any type of ordinance. It's not like they work for the same corporation or anything.

I think this woman is dropping subtle hints to your friend that she is in fact interested, but she doesn't want to come off too aggressively and appear inappropriate because after all, it is a business establishment and a classy one at that.

Op I'm not sure why you care whether your friends thinks she is interested. It's a not odd and ok wondering if you are either the guy himself asking or the bartender seeing if she has a shot. If I am wrong then you need to back off. If he is interested, he will pursue. You sound like a 16 year old dealing with these type of situations.

A friend of mine is a Red Rocker. One of the cheerleaders for the Washington Capitals. She's gorgeous and gets asked for "selfies" with fans nonstop throughout the games. She's also a bartender at a sports pub and she's told me so many stories of guys hitting on her, asking her out, asking for her number, etc.

However, she does tell me there are regulars at her pub who she likes and would date if the opportunity was there. Interestingly, she's not seeing anyone but at work she makes up a boyfriend just so it's easier to turn guys down. But again she has told me there's a few hotties she'd date even if they are customers. From the stories she tells the guys she likes are laid back and don't hit on her directly. I was a bartender for over six years. Happily married now with one baby girl. Unless this bartender is a slut, and I'm assuming she's not based on how you're describing her, she does like your friend. But, I can ASSURE YOU 100% she's VERY WELL AWARE of what might happen if they started dating and things went south. I've seen it happen time and time again. I used to get hit on every single night behind the bar. After a while it was nothing and more importantly it meant nothing. To me at least. But, I never gave my personal number out to anyone unless it was someone I SERIOUSLY trusted. And to tell them where I lived? That's major trust. So, either she's really into him or she really trusts him. Or both. Hey, you never know they may have tried dating behind your back

Don't ask the bartender for your friend!! That would create an awkward situation, and your friend hasn't asked her out for a reason. He is an adult and capable of tending to his own love life. And he's too old to have a friend talk to her, geez...that's what people were referring to when they said it sounds like high school. I would be mortified if I were your friend and you got involved on my behalf...especially if I had reservations. Stay out of it!!!

OP here. I'm married so I wouldn't ask her out! I made this post because this has been an ongoing discussion between my friend and I for a loooooong time. Thought it would be fun to get some input here that's all.

Most of these ladies get hit on every single night. So for them being asked out or getting hit on means nothing to them. Perhaps this lady enjoys the fact that your friend doesn't seem to hit on her like perhaps other customers do. I can tell you from experience smart attractive women know which guys they like and which guys they don't

I don't know your friend from jack, but I would guess they both have some feelings for each other. Especially if she looks like Alyssa Campanella because she's damn gorgeous!!!!! I have several lady friends who are bartenders or waiters. I can say for certain they do not give out their number or talk about where they live with their customers. But your situation is different because you two are regulars and it seems you are in a more professional type of bar rather than a "drink beer" type of bar. But even with that I know hot bartenders and waitresses don't give out their numbers. She obviously likes him but maybe she's the one with the reservations because of the age difference. 26 to 35 is a decent gap.
