Stingray city is amazing but I'm pretty sure they do not allow tourists to go and harass the stingrays anymore. I used to go as a kid and then the times I've been in the last five years, it hasn't been allowed.
Smith Cove is one of my favorite places on earth. It's never crowded when I've been and is just beautiful. The blowholes on the eastern side of the island make for a fun drive and walking-around tour. I think the north side of the island is beautiful. I've loved renting my aunt's house, walking to the Hyatt property, driving to the Yacht Club or Beach Club I think for the occasional meal out, but largely hanging out and relaxing.
We took a tour boat to stingray city for spring break this year -- so definitely still allowed. True, the island itself is not the most beautiful. It's all about the water and undersea living. You must snorkel, SCUBA or take the submarine tour.

I've been there 7 times with family so far (we love it so much, it's a regular beach destination with us) but our kids are little. As to teens - depends on the teen(s). The 7-mile beach is gorgeous and there is a ton of scubadiving/snorkeling stuff to do, plus Stingray City. You can also go jestskiiing, parasailing, etc. The food is good too. OTOH is not a place with a big fun city with city things to do, so if they don't like water activities, they are out of luck (unless they are fond of shopping for tanzanite at the cruise port shops
).

Kids under 4? 5? Eat free. My three year old ate free off the kids menu our entire trip.

We have gone to the Ritz for dinner - we were staying somewhere else - anyway, there was a children's menu. We ate on the island side near the pool. They had a giant projector up off to the side with some kid's movie playing. It was pretty wonderful.
