100% of the positions I have had I have never left because of the individuals I served, but because of getting burned out from the bureaucracy of the organizations I worked for. Paperwork is a big part of the job, as well as overloaded caseloads from colleague turnover, which usually left very little time for working with your clients--you know, the most enjoyable and rewarding part of the job!

There are social work positions in schools that I think run the school year.

agree with O.P. its not worth it.

If I quit my job, we'd be evicted and homeless within 2 months. I am guessing your DH can cover the bills.
